Rocky Creek is a 4.5 acre farmette located in Ephrata, PA (Lancaster County) with a rocky creek running through the center of the property. A bridge connects the parking area to the main agility field. There is also a dam on the creek which creates a small pond. Dogs may play in the creek at the discretion of the handler. We specialize in teaching and training dogs in agility. All dogs are welcome at Rocky Creek, big dogs, little dogs, old dogs and young dogs!
We offer a fully fenced and gated 110x110 foot agility field including a full complement of agility equipment. There is over an acre of unfenced ground available for working with well trained, supervised dogs that will not run away. We also have a building behind the garage, it is a 75 x 50 foot fabric structure with lights available. This building also has a full complement of equipment.
In 2010 we added a 25 x 12 foot oval swimming pool just outside of the large outdoor ring and in 2015 we upgraded to a 30 foot round pool. Great for cooling off on hot days and a nice place to teach your dog to swim.
Rocky Creek Dog Agility is owned by Kim and Mark Malmer.
Kim is in charge of the business, Mark is the groundskeeper.
Kim enjoys training and handling agility dogs. Her main goal is to help each dog/handler team achieve it's greatest potential. Every dog can be a champion, earn many titles and have lots of fun participating in this wonderful dog sport. Each and every dog deserves the opportunity to excel to it's greatest potential, which is possible through positive reinforcement and proper training of both the dog and handler. Kim has degrees in education and management from Iowa State University.
In addition to teaching at Rocky Creek, Kim is a CPE and SSA Judge. She has competed and titled in CPE, USDAA, UKI, AKC, NADAC, TDAA, SSA, UKC and DOCNA with 16 different dogs.
Mark enjoys landscaping and gardening. He enjoys his time on the tractor grooming the acreage. He also enjoys up-dating the landscaping and grounds. There is almost always a project in progress at Rocky Creek.
